The end of art as we know it?

The end of art as we know it?

I heard about Ai-Da and thought I will have to follow this. This is the first humanoid robot to have a piece of art auctioned at Sotheby's.  Last week began the auction of "A.I. God" portrait of Alan Turing and it's already met the reserve of 120,000 USD.
This is a huge landmark.  It has made me think about humanism and what it means to be an artist and create.  I am conflicted, because I think we should embrace science and technology.  However it would be shortsighted to not think about the future and what this may mean.
They want us to ask questions, but I think its a bit misleading.  There is no consciousness.  This robot has a human face, a name and we are led to believe this art is created by the same processes.  It isn't.
Instead, algorithms and cameras and no doubt incredible engineering.  But is it art?  Are our perceptions of what is art changing?  It doesn't take much of a leap for me to see in the future there will be celebrity robots creating art, poems and music tailored for any individual (charging a high price point).  These A.I. machines with huge instagram accounts and massive followings will be high in demand.  It is all down to public perception and what we buy into.
What do you think, would you like some art done by a robot?
